Veteran Literary Figure Late Madhuri Pattnaik Passes Away at 80

The demise of Madhuri Pattnaik (80) has cast a deep shadow over Odisha’s literary and cultural community. Her passing marks an irreparable loss for the Sahitya–Sanskruti Samaroh fraternity and the wider Odia literary world, where she was held in high esteem for her lifelong association with cultural activities and community engagement.

To honour her memory and pray for the eternal peace of her soul, a condolence and remembrance meeting will be held on Friday, January 2, at 5:00 PM at the Godabarish Sahitya Sansad Hall, Bhubaneswar.

The meeting will be presided over by Er. Gaurachandra Mahapatra, President of Sahitya Sanskruti Samaroh. Renowned poet and Central Sahitya Akademi Award recipient Dr. Phani Mahanty, who is also the President of the National Literary Festival, will attend as the Chief Guest. The Chief Speaker on the occasion will be Dr. Satyabrata Jena, Ex. Editor of the English daily The Common Times.

As a special tribute, musical homage will be offered by noted artistes Bharati Bhusan Pattnaik, Soudamini Samantray, and other distinguished musicians.

Organisers have appealed to writers, artists, cultural enthusiasts, and members of the public to attend the meeting and pay homage by remembering the life and legacy of the departed soul.
