Young Vocalist Bahniman Rath Felicitated at Ashtaprahari Naam Yagna Festival

The Ashtaprahari Naam Yagna Festival was recently held at Buddha Vihar Colony, Gopalgaon. The spiritual chanting began at midnight on the 29th and concluded at 12 noon on the 1st. On the 30th, a special session of Sankirtan drew large participation from colony residents, who offered their devotion to Radha-Krishna. At noon on the same day, a grand prasadam distribution was organized, serving over 2,000 devotees who partook with spiritual satisfaction.

On the evening of the 1st, under the moderation of literary figure Pitambar Das, a public meeting was held. Committee President Debendra Kumar Raul, Secretary Bhaskar Chandra Das, and Advisor Sarbeswar Mohanty spoke about the significance of organizing the Naam Yagna and emphasized the auspicious nature of Akshaya Tritiya—a sacred day for beginning agricultural work and initiating the chariot construction for Lord Jagannath. They noted that any endeavor begun on this day is believed to be especially fruitful.

A cultural program followed the meeting. At the outset, music director Amrutanshu Pattanaik, writer Debjani Das, and young vocalist Bahniman Rath were felicitated by the organizing committee. Bahniman Rath and Amrutanshu Pattanaik sang two bhajans composed by Pitambar Das. The event also featured delightful musical and dance performances by many budding talents from the colony. All participants were awarded certificates of appreciation.

Later, competitions in music and dance were held. Based on jury evaluations, winners were selected and presented with trophies and certificates. In the music category, Archita Dasmahapatra, Rachita Dasmahapatra, and Isharani Jena won first, second, and third prizes, respectively. In the dance category, Nandita Pradhan, Ahinjita Kundu, and Archita Dasmahapatra claimed the top three spots.

The entire event was smoothly coordinated with the help of colony residents including Muralikrishna Pattanaik, Sudhanshu Parida, Pradeep Mohanty, Amulya Pradhan, Lambodar Barik, Jayanta Pradhan, Durgashankar Das, Bikram Mohanty, Bairagi Sethi, Bijay Barik, Ramesh Barik, Chittaranjan Nayak, Sujit Das, Asit Kar, Prafulla Jena, Chaitanya Sahu, Sanjay Mandal, Kajal Mohanty, and Monalisa Pradhan.
