12-hour nationwide bandh affects normal life
Bhubaneswar (21/08/2024): A 12-hour nationwide bandh called by various Dalit and tribal organizations against the Supreme Court's verdict on reservation.
The bandh has been supported by various political parties.
The impact of the strike is visible in many places in Odisha.
In Bhubaneswar, employees of Lok Seba Bhawan, Kharabela Bhawan and Rajiv Bhawan have been asked to report to office by 9:30 am.
Impact of the bandh was felt in Sundargarh, Bargarh, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, and Bhadrak districts.
Protesters blocked roads and staged demonstrations at various places.
Two trains were stopped at Sambalpur station by protesters.
The Sambalpur-Puri Inter-City and Rayagada Inter-City trains have been affected.
Similarly, vehicular movement has been affected in Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Mayurbhanj districts, and shops and markets remained closed.
