Advocates’ body pays tribute to Madhu Babu, collects signatures for Bharat Ratna

Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): The Bhubaneswar Advocates’ Association on Monday paid floral tributes to Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan Das, popularly known as Madhu Babu, on his death anniversary.

The programme was held under the chairmanship of Association President Ashok Kumar Patra. 

State Bar Council member Atmaprakash Mohanty, Association Secretary Satya Ranjan Senapati, Joint Secretary Rashmi Ranjan Mohanty other office-bearers offered floral tributes at his statue and paid homage.

During the programme, signatures were collected demanding posthumous conferment of the Bharat Ratna on Madhusudan Das, installation of his statue in the Parliament complex, operation of a train in his name, declaration of his birth anniversary as a government holiday, and naming of roads near courts across Odisha after him.
It was stated that signatures from Odias in 24 states had already been collected earlier under the leadership of Lingaraj Sahoo.

Executive committee member Akshay Kumar Das, Om Tatvavit, Subrat Senapati, former Secretary Rajkishore Das, former Joint Secretary Ashok Kumar Badapanda, Rajendra Kumar Das, Suman Routray and hundreds of advocates attended the programme.
