Bhitarkanika National Park to remain closed from May 1

Kendrapara(29/04/2024): The Bhitarkanika National Park in Kendrapara district will remain closed for visitors from May 1 to July 31.
This closure is due to the breeding season of saltwater crocodiles, which is a crucial period for their conservation. This closure aims to minimize disturbances to the crocodiles during this sensitive period. Bhitarkanika is the second-largest mangrove ecosystem in India.
