BJD to observe six-hour Bhubaneswar bandh on September 24
Bhubaneswar (22/09/2024): The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Sunday announced that it will observe a six-hour Bhubaneswar bandh on September 24. In a press meet, Senior BJD leader Debi Prasad Mishra said, "The Bharatpur case is an inhumane incident.
BJD President Naveen Patnaik has demanded a thorough probe by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the incident where an Army Major and his fiancee were assaulted at Bharatpur police station.
We have submitted a memorandum seeking justice for the victims to the President of India and decided to observe a bandh for six hours in Bhubaneswar on September 24." During the bandh, vehicular movement will be stopped from 6 am to 1 pm, Mishra said.
