Cancer registry to be established in Odisha
Bhubaneswar (04/02/2024): On World Cancer Day, the Odisha government has made a significant announcement to establish a cancer registry in the state.
According to Dr.Nilakantha Mishra, Director of Public Health, the registry will be divided into two categories:Hospital-Based Cancer Registry and Population-Based Cancer Registry. This initiative aims to collect and analyze data on cancer cases in Odisha, which will enable the government to take targeted measures to improve public health.
The registry will provide valuable insights into the types of cancer prevalent in different regions of the state, helping policymakers to develop effective strategies for cancer prevention and treatment.
