Central Control Room in the interest of farmers
Bhubaneswar (16/01/2025): The Odisha government has taken various steps to protect the interest of farmers in the state.
All arrangements have been made to ensure that no eligible farmer face any problem in the paddy procurement process.
A Central Control Room is functioning at Odisha State Civil Supply Corporation to take prompt action in case of any irregularities during paddy procurement.
The centre has been set up with the aim of serving the interests of the farmers and giving them maximum benefits.
With this, farmers can immediately lodge their complaints through this centre if there are any issues in the process of procurement.
Nodal officers have been appointed in each mandi and are monitoring the paddy procurement process.
Grievances can be lodged through Toll free No.1967. The control room keeps a close watch on mandis in all districts.
So far, there are one lakh 4178 incoming calls received through this toll-free number.
It includes a maximum of about 90,000 calls related to tokens.
Similarly, there are one lakh 12 thousand 11 outgoing calls from this centre.
This includes the about 70,000 calls relating to feedback of farmers and 39 thousand calls related to the verification calls of sharecroppers.
Similarly, 4 lakh 29 thousand 650 calls have also been made through interactive voice response system (IVRS).
Out of these, about 3 lakh 15 thousand calls were made only about tokens.
Above all nearly 6.5 lakh calls including incoming, outgoing and IVRS calls have been made in this way.
The available data is for two and half months i.e between 1st November, 2024 to 15th of this month.
The control room will function during paddy procurement in both Kharif and Rabi seasons.
