CHARIOT PULLING BEGINS IN PURI AMID RELIGIOUS FERVOUR

Puri(07/07/2024): Chariot pulling began at Bada Danda in Puri on the occasion of Rath Jatra. The pulling of chariots started around 5:20 pm with amid religious fervour and enthusiasm after Puri King Dibyasingha Deb performed Chhera Panhara (sweeping) ritual on the three chariots. President Droupadi Murmu, Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik visited Puri to witness the grand festival.
