Cleanliness Target Unit Inaugurated on Gandhi Jayanti

Balasore, 2/10 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): On the sacred occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, and on the concluding day of the “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign, a Cleanliness Target Unit (CTU) was inaugurated near the Shobharampur Flyover under the Swachhotsav initiative. An old garbage dumping site has been transformed into a beautiful mini-park and dedicated to the people of Balasore.
On the same day, at Gandhi Smruti Bhavan, a new logo was unveiled to take Balasore Municipality forward in the mission of cleanliness and to build a new Balasore—Clean Balasore, Green Balasore, Dream Balasore. The logo was unveiled by Balasore MP Shri Pratap Chandra Sarangi, in the presence of Balasore MLA Shri Manas Kumar Dutta, District Collector Shri Suryabanshi Mayur Vikas, Additional District Collector Shri Shib Malaviya, Municipal Chairperson Smt. Savita Sahu, Executive Officer Smt. Nirlipta Mohanty, councillors, Balasore Municipality staff, and members of the Mission Shakti women’s groups.
All present witnessed this historic moment and pledged to come forward to build a more beautiful Balasore.
The programme concluded with a Bada Khana (community feast), where all the distinguished guests served the cooked food to the sanitation workers and members of the Mission Shakti women’s groups engaged in the cleanliness drive.
