Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty):
Two lakh drivers in Odisha have gone on an indefinite strike, bringing bus, truck, car, and auto services to a standstill across the Odisha. The Odisha Drivers' Mahasangh has called for the strike to press for seven major demands.

The strike has caused significant disruptions, with passengers, including office goers, school students, trying to reach their destinations.

At Bhubaneswar's Baramunda bus stand, buses bound for various destinations remained stranded.

The demands include pension after 60 years of age, declaration of September 1 as Drivers' Day, introduction of special law to protect drivers from mob violence, provision of parking and resting facilities for drivers every 100 km.

The strike will continue until the demands are met, said an agitating driver.
