GAJA BHOGA OFFERED TO BABA DHABALESWAR

Athagarh(26/11/2023): The famous 'Gaja Bhoga' was offered to Lord Shiva at Dhabaleswar temple in Athagarh of Cuttack district late on Saturday night. It was offered to the Lord amid 'Trayodashi' and Chaturdashi 'Tithi'. The 'Gaja Bhoga' prepared from rice, coconut, jaggery, flour and cardamom is offered to Baba Dhabaleswar every year on the occasion of Bada Osha (the biggest fasting festival) in Odisha. After the door of the shrine was opened around 2 am, the 'Mangala Alati' ritual was performed and the deity was bathed with 108 pitchers of water. After the 'Mailama' ritual, devotees were allowed to have darshan of the deity.
