HEAVY RAINFALL PARALYSES NORMAL LIFE IN BHUBANESWAR & CUTTACK
Bhubaneswar(02/09/2023): Heavy rainfall paralysed normal life in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on Saturday. Fire Services Directorate has mobilising teams from nearby districts for rescue work in Bhubaneswar. Chief Fire Officer, Odisha Ramesh Majhi supervised the rescue work. All teams have been asked to be in place by the time rain ends to help out the people. Dewatering is being done at Gajapati Nagar near Sainik School by Mancheswar Fire Services team. Dewatering is also being done at Baramunda Nilekantheswar temple, Banaphool basti by Chandrasekhapur Fire Services team.
Teams have also been deployed for dewatering at Gajapati Nagar near Sainik School, Nayapalli and Dumduma areas. Intense downpour resulted in traffic jam at several places in Bhubaneswar including Raj Mahal Square. Besides, lightning brought the twin cities to their knees.
