International Women's Day celebrated by PECUC
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): Women are the foundation of all power. They have immense power within them and have proven their skills and expertise in many fields. Empowerment and active role of women is essential for building a just society and a better future. The primary campaign theme is "Give to Gain," which highlights that investing in women's equality through mentorship, resources, and opportunity benefits society as a Whole. “Rights, Justice, Action For All Women” is the theme decided for observation of women’s day this year. This theme reaffirms the commitment for ensuring equal rights and opportunities for every woman.
This is a call to move beyond words and take meaningful action to achieve justice, dignity, and empowerment for all. On this backdrop People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC), a leading voluntary organisation of Odisha, organised International Women’s Day in all its operational areas.
On this occasion, a programme was organised at Satyabhamapur Gram Panchayat Conference Hall, Balianta block in Khordha district with participation of hundreds of women in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Unique.
Dr. Minakshi Panda, Chairperson, PECUC, and Ranjan Mohanty, Secretary, PECUC joined this programme.
Rtn Dibya Ranjan Das, Former President, Rtn Prakasha Chandra Das, Rtn. Minati Mahapatra, Arjuna Award winner of Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar also spoke on this occasion.
Among others Bhakta Batsala Mahaptra, BEO Balianta, Sister Tapaswini , Prajapita Brahma Kumari, Rasmita Bhoi, Sarpanch, Sabita Munduri, PEO, from Satyabhamapur GP also shared their well wishes.
Many distinguished women achievers of Balianta block were honoured for their outstanding contribution in various fields. They were Sarmistha Tripathy, Headmistress in Charge, Champeswar Government UP School, Kakarudrapur, Rashmi Priya Dash, ANM, Sub-Centre, Satyabhamapur, Minati Dash, Supervisor, Jagannathpur Sector, Sanjukta Dei, AWW, Balianta GP and Gitanjali Bhoi, ASHA, Jagannathpur GP. More than 100 women including AWW, ASHA workers, teachers, women SHG group members participated in this programme.
From PECUC, Upama Mohanty welcomed the guests and Rashmee Rekha gave the vote of thanks.
