Rakesh Ranjan Sahu brings glory to Odisha in Table Tennis
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): The “Advitya Sports Fest 2026” was recently organized at VIT Bhopal University.
Representing Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Rakesh Ranjan Sahu won the gold medal in the men’s table tennis (TT) singles event.
The competition was held from 21st to 24th of last month.
In the final match, Rakesh defeated his opponent from West Bengal 3–0 to secure the championship title.
After returning from Bhopal, he met the founder of KIIT-KISS, Achyuta Samanta.
Rakesh said that KIIT has been providing him with all necessary support. He also expressed gratitude to Achyuta Sir, Gaganendu Sir and Rashmita Madam for their encouragement.
He added that the competition was very challenging, with many highly ranked players participating.
“I am very happy to become the champion after defeating such strong competitors,” Rakesh said.
