LOW PRESSURE AREA WEAKENS; RAIN INTENSITY TO REDUCE
Bhubaneswar(06/09/2023): The low pressure area over Bay of Bengal has weakened.
This was informed by the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday. The intensity of rainfall is likely to reduce in Odisha during the next 48 hours. In the last 24 hours, Balasore district recorded the highest 117.1 mm of rainfall. Several parts of Balasore district are waterogged following heavy rainfall triggered by the low pressure system in the past couple of days. The Balasore-Remuna road is completely waterlogged, causing traffic congestion for the commuters. The rainwater has entered several houses and shops in various parts of Balasore town and nearby areas. The IMD has predicted that the southwest monsoon is likely to withdraw completely from Odisha after October 15.
