Mass rally by VIEWS promotes menstrual hygiene awareness in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty):
In a significant step toward breaking the silence around menstruation, VIEWS (Voluntary Integration for Education and Welfare of Society) organised a mass rally on menstrual hygiene management at Sikharchandi Nagar in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
The event aimed to raise awareness about menstrual health, promote open dialogue, and challenge the stigma and misconceptions often associated with menstruation.
The rally was inaugurated by S.Bheema Rao, Executive Director of VIEWS, at the Sikharchandi Nagar Community Hall. It proceeded through the entire Sikharchandi Nagar slum area, making a strong visual impact and drawing the attention of the local community.
More than 200 enthusiastic youth from across Bhubaneswar participated in the rally. The participants carried placards and raised slogans such as “My Period, My Rights”, advocating for menstrual equity, the right to dignity, and access to accurate information.
This initiative by VIEWS not only raised public awareness but also empowered young people to become champions for menstrual health and gender equality in their communities.
