Mass Tree Plantation Drive Held Across Kharagpur Division Under ‘Swachhata Hi Seva – 2025’
Balasore, 21/9 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): As part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) – 2025 “Swachhotsav” campaign, a mass tree plantation drive was conducted today across various stations, depots, yards, and railway colonies under the Kharagpur Division.
The drive covered Santragachi, Baleshwar, Kharagpur, Barda, Ramnagar Bengal, Domjur, Digha, Birshibpur, Maurigram, Tikiapara, and several other stations. Officers, railway staff, and local communities joined hands to promote the vision of a cleaner, greener, and sustainable environment.
At Kharagpur, the initiative was led by Shri Lalit Mohan Pandey, DRM/Kharagpur, along with Ms. Maneesha Goel, ADRM/Operations, and all branch officers. They planted saplings and raised awareness about environmental conservation and cleanliness.
Station Managers (SMRs), CCI/CI, CHI/HI, SSE (Works), and Cleaning Incharges actively supervised the plantation drives at their respective stations, ensuring effective execution of the mission.
This initiative reflects Indian Railways’ commitment to environmental sustainability and aligns with the national vision of “Swachh Bharat – Swasth Bharat.” Each sapling planted is seen as a step towards a healthier and greener tomorrow.
