GST Bachat Utsav to boost savings and bring smile to faces of households: PM Modi

Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced the launch of the ‘GST Bachat Utsav’ from September 22, calling it a next-generation reform aimed at lowering prices, increasing middle-class savings, benefiting the youth and spurring economic growth.
Sheding light on the impact of GST, the Prime Minister said, “GST has fulfilled the dream of ‘one nation, one tax’. Earlier, a complex web of taxes and tolls created hardships for businesses and consumers alike. With the new GST reforms, daily essentials, medicines and insurance will become more affordable. The ‘GST Bachat Utsav’ will help families save more and bring happiness to every household.”
During his address to the nation, the PM also urged citizens to prefer Made-in-India products, emphasising that each purchase supports the hard work and aspirations of the nation’s youth.
He appealed to state governments to actively back the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative and the Swadeshi programme by accelerating manufacturing activities in their respective states.
