Odisha CM visits Taratarini Temple in Ganjam, announces Rs 68 crore project for development of shrine

Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited the Taratarini Temple in Ganjam district on Thursday and announced a project worth Rs 68 crore for the development of the temple.
During his visit, the Chief Minister also attended the centenary celebrations of Gangadharani Upgraded High School.
At the event, the CM emphasized the importance of education, stating that it should not only focus on employment but also on character building. He said, "We want Buddha, not war; we want Jagannath, not jihad."
For the development of the Taratarini Temple, the state government has approved Rs 68 crore, which includes Rs 8 crore for infrastructure development and an additional Rs 30 crore for providing facilities to devotees and pilgrims. The funds will be used for various projects, including the construction of a multi-story dharmashala, improvement of roads, installation of signboards, and beautification of the temple surroundings.
The Chief Minister also announced that Rs 5 crore will be allocated for the maintenance of the temple and other buildings. The development projects aim to enhance the overall experience of pilgrims and devotees visiting the Taratarini Temple.
