Odisha Commerce and Transport Department issues guidelines for picnics

The Odisha Commerce and Transport Department on Tuesday issued guidelines for picnics, with special emphasis on strengthening enforcement measures.

To prevent accidents caused by drunken driving, tourists will be subjected to breath analyser tests. Strict action will be taken against those violating traffic rules. 

Action will also be initiated in cases of overloading, unsafe transportation, and illegal use of vehicles.

Special enforcement teams will be deployed at major picnic spots. 

Checking will be conducted at the entry and exit points of picnic locations.

Vehicles returning from picnic spots must obtain the necessary permit from the RTO. All vehicles going for picnics must carry valid documents.

Necessary precautionary measures will be taken keeping foggy conditions in view.
