Odisha government directs colleges to prevent entry of stray dogs and cattle
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty):
The Odisha Higher Education Department has issued a directive to principals of all degree colleges across the state, instructing them to implement measures to prevent stray dogs and cows from entering college campuses.
According to the circular, institutions must ensure proper boundary fencing and maintain secure gates to restrict the entry of animals.
In addition, colleges have been advised to conduct awareness sessions for students and staff on responsible behaviour around animals and on preventive steps to avoid incidents such as bites.
The department has also emphasised the need to raise awareness among the campus community on appropriate responses and treatment in case of animal bite incidents.
