ODISHA GOVERNMENT PROHIBITS FISHING BY TRAWLERS, MOTORISED VESSELS IN THREE RIVER MOUTHS

Bhubaneswar(01/11/2023): The Odisha government on Wednesday prohibited fishing by trawlers and motorised vessels in three river mouths of the state. The fishing ban will remain in force from November 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024 in 20 km range of Dhamara, Devi and Rushikulya river mouths for protection of Olive Ridley sea turtles. The restricted areas will be patrolled during the period and a compliance report will be prepared by the concerned Additional Fisheries Officer (Marine).
