OLLYWOOD FILM PRODUCER TUTU NAYAK ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF SLAPPING LADY JOURNALIST

Bhubaneswar (04/11/2023): The Commissionerate Police on Saturday arrested Ollywood film producer Tutu Nayak on charges of slapping lady journalist Debasmita Rout.

Earlier in the day, Nayak was brought to Kharvel Nagar police station as he failed to appear voluntarily after being summoned. Prior to the arrest, the State Commission for Women sou motu registered a case in this regard.

The Commission wrote to Bhubaneswar Prateek Singh DCP to look into the matter and sought a report within 15 days after Investigation. The Odisha Women in Media Forum also met the DCP seeking an impartial probe into the matter and safety of women in the workplace and outside. The female journalist in her complaint alleged that the producer slapped her and hurled filthy language at her while she was in a cinema hall to cover an event on November 3.
