Poetry gathering and book release programme organised on Makar Sankranti
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, a poetry gathering and book release programme was organised by Vidya Publishing Inc. at the Buddha Temple in Bhubaneswar.
Researchers, literature lovers, senior citizens, junior students, and poets participated in the event and commemorated the great festival of fraternity and harmony.
Renowned writer Dr. Bijayananda Singh attended as the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour included Dr. Chandrasekhar Hota, Secretary of the Odisha Sahitya Akademi; eminent writer Sitesh Tripathy; distinguished playwright Dr. Arabinda Ray; Prashant Kumar Panda (Chairman, DAV School, Talcher); and senior litterateur Dr. Jayanti Rath. They discussed the contours of literature and highlighted the newly published books.
The books released on the occasion included
Adekhā Naksha by artist Sasadhar Pati, novel adaptation by Dr. Sarat Kumar Jena,
Ganjamra Kabi O Kabya by Dr. Hrushikesh Panda,
Listing to Majuli by Jitu Mishra,
Sarjanshila Samalochak by Dr. Hrushikesh Mahakud, and
Jibana Jeunthi by Sushama Lenka.
The poetry session was presided over by Umakanta Rout. Bijayalakshmi Pattnaik, Secretary Surendra Panigrahi, and Sangitarani Behera were present.
The programme was coordinated and conducted by Dr. Sarojini Pani, Associate Professor and Secretary of Vidya Publishing Inc.
