POLICE MUST WORK TOWARDS CREATING CONFIDENCE AMONG VICTIMS BY TAKING SENSIBLE & EMPATHETIC APPROACH: CM NAVEEN PATNAIK
Bhubaneswar (09/01/2024): Police must work towards creating confidence among victims by taking sensible and empathetic approach, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the 16th Raising Day of Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on Tuesday. Extending his heartiest congratulations to all the members of the Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar & Cuttack, the Chief Minister said, "I am delighted to inaugurate the “Unified Command and Control Centre” and launch “e- Abedan” App on this occasion.
This will make the organisation more robust and help the Police become more people friendly.
In this glorious journey of 16 years, Commissionerate Police has grown substantially.
Today, as many as 52 Police Stations are functioning under it.
I have always emphasised on citizen centric and citizen friendly policing.
Over last several years, the Commissionerate Police has taken up a number of drives to connect to several vulnerable sections of society including slum dwellers, senior citizens and children.
It has also taken up initiative for spreading “Cyber Crime Awareness” in educational institutions." The CM stated that security of women is a top priority of his government. He expressed his happiness to learn that Commissionerate Police has done excellent job in achieving significant increase in conviction rate last year. He further said, "I am happy that feedbacks on implementation of 5T have been quite good.
I will be very happy if the experience of visitors to police stations is improved further.
I also desire that more technological interventions be introduced to enhance the effectiveness.
I hope the Commissionerate Police will rise to new challenges to create a sense of security among the citizens, and improve its capacity to become a model for the country.".
