Balasore, 17 November(Krushna Kumar Mohanty) Indian Railways has initiated the redevelopment of Baripada Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, reaffirming its commitment to inclusive and future-oriented infrastructure. The scheme focuses on phased improvements tailored to each station’s needs, with the aim of making railway stations cleaner, more comfortable and more convenient for passengers. South Eastern Railway will upgrade 72 stations under this programme. Baripada station, situated in the Kharagpur division of Mayurbhanj district in Odisha, is among the stations selected for this development. During the project, Baripada station will receive a new station building along with an upgraded booking counter. Facilities designed for Divyangjan will include a dedicated booking counter, toilet, ramp, water booth, parking area and tactile tiles to ensure smoother mobility across the station premises. The platforms will be improved with new shelters, renewed surfacing and enhanced seating arrangements. The circulating and parking areas will also be expanded, supported by a new waiting room and additional water booths. To improve passenger convenience, the station will be equipped with ATVM machines, new entry and exit gates, clear train and coach indicator boards and displays showcasing local art and culture.
