Restrictions imposed in Twin City due to pollution

Due to rising pollution levels, all construction activities in the Twin City of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack will remain suspended from 6:00 PM to 10:00 AM.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued several restrictions to control pollution. Burning of firewood and coal in hotels and dhabas has been completely banned.
The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) has been instructed to ensure regular washing of buses at depots and stands.
Burning garbage in open spaces will attract a fine of Rs 5,000.
Schools have been advised to use clean fuel for mid-day meal cooking.
The BMC has also directed water sprinkling in dust-prone areas to reduce airborne dust.
Additionally, restrictions have been imposed on the movement of heavy vehicles at night in the Twin City.
