SAMBADIKA MILITA MANCHA DEMAND IMMEDIATE INTRODUCTION OF SPECIAL LAW FOR JOURNALISTS' PROTECTION

Bhubaneswar(14/03/2024): Ahead the elections, the Odisha government listened to the demands of all Unions, Associations and employees.

Even those who did not claim, the government increased their salary.

However, only the demands of journalists have not been fulfilled despite several requests.

Keeping the interests of working journalists in view, the Sambadika Milita Mancha demand introduction of a special law for the protection of journalists immediately before the announcement of election date.

For this, the state government should constitute a committee at the earliest committee, said Dr.

Sahoo said, "Many times working journalists are being attacked while doing their duty.

Therefore, it is necessary to make a special law for their protection immediately.

The father and mother of various journalists are living in the village.

They will be benefited, if their benefits are covered by insurance or covered by Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana.

Journalists of various authorized web channels and news portal organizations should be included under the insurance coverage.

While the government is increasing the welfare funds of various groups, it has been demanded to increase the welfare fund of journalists.

For this, signatures of senior journalists have been collected and demand letters submitted to MLAs, Ministers, Information and Public Relations Advisor." All the journalists of the state are eagerly waiting for the announcement of the government for the welfare of journalists, he added.
