Bhubaneswar(13/03/2024): Hundreds of sanitation workers, who were on a strike for the last two days, withdrew their agitation on Wednesday. The agitation was withdrawn following discussion with Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Sulochana Das.
However, the agitators said that they will resort to agitation again, if their demands are not met within two days. The sanitation workers had staged a massive protest at Rajmahal Square in Bhubaneswar demanding hike in their monthly salary to Rs 15,000. Owing to the agitation, garbage lifting remained affected in more than 53 wards of the city.
