Sixth Phase Swimming Training Camp Begins in Balasore District

With the support of the Odisha State Disaster Management Authority, the District Emergency Department has launched a special training program at Padmavati Water Park Hall in Balasore to teach youths the basics of swimming and water survival techniques.
District Sports Officer Purna Chandra Jena inaugurated the camp as the chief guest. District Emergency Officer Sai Krishna Jena, ODRAF Officer Manoranjan Behera, and District Project Officer Abani Kanta Bhuyan were present on the dais. The guests noted that the state government’s initiative will be highly beneficial for the younger generation to prevent drowning-related accidents.
In this phase, which runs from October 8 to 13, a total of 30 trainees will receive hands-on training from the ODRAF team. Over ten batches, around 300 participants will be trained by the local Balasore ODRAF unit. A 20-member ODRAF team from Balasore is conducting the sessions.
The event was coordinated by District Project Officer Abani Kanta Bhuyan and Nehru Yuva Kendra Coordinator Bikram Barik.
