Two-Day Watercolour Workshop Organised by Chitrotpala at Sonepur

A two-day watercolour painting workshop and exhibition was successfully held at Sonepur under the banner of Chitrotpala, an organisation of artists and art lovers, as part of its 3.0 initiative. The closing ceremony took place at the Municipality Market premises near Block Square.

The event was graced by the Additional District Magistrate of Subarnapur, Mrs. Anjalina Padhaan, as the Chief Guest. She spoke about the importance of promoting art and assured that steps would be taken to establish a photo gallery in the district in the near future.

Block Education Officer Lakshman Mishra, who attended as the keynote speaker, stated that every artist is a divine creation and that their artworks have the power to inspire social change.

Among the distinguished guests were child rights activist Ghasiram Panda, advocate Gaurishyam Panda, and social worker Gatikrishna Mishra.

National award-winning international clay artist Mukund Rana was felicitated along with other participating painters. Prizes were also presented to the winners of the earlier district-level painting competition.

A total of 26 artists from 11 districts participated in the workshop. The vote of thanks was proposed by Gatikrishna Mishra, while Chitrotpala President Duryodhan Meher delivered the welcome address. The stage proceedings were conducted by senior teacher Ambuj Bihari Satapathy.
