Tiger skin worth Rs 30 lakh seized in Bhubaneswar

In a major crackdown on wildlife trafficking, the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police seized a tiger skin valued at Rs 30 lakh and arrested three persons from the Jayadev Vihar area of Bhubaneswar on Monday.
According to STF sources, the tiger was reportedly killed in another state, and its skin was brought to Odisha for illegal trade.
On the basis of a tip-off, the STF team conducted a raid and intercepted the accused while they were allegedly trying to find buyers.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and further investigation is underway to trace the source of the tiger skin and other individuals involved in the smuggling racket.
