Two-Day Literary Festival to Be Held at Fakir Mohan University : Over 30 Writers from Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Sanskrit, Urdu, Santali, and English to Participate

Balasore, 10/5 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): Fakir Mohan University, which has carved a unique identity in the state through its dedicated efforts for the growth of language and literature, is set to host a two-day ‘Sahitya Utsav’ (Literary Festival) on the 16th and 17th of this month.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Santosh Kumar Tripathy will serve as the chief patron of the event, while Prof. Bhaskar Behera, Chairperson of the Postgraduate Council, and Registrar Kukumina Das will act as key supporters. The convener of the event is Prof. Debashis Patra, Head of the Department of Language and Literature.
More than 30 authors representing various languages such as Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Sanskrit, Urdu, Santali, and English are scheduled to participate. Discussions will also include literary aspects from Assam, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Thailand, and Odisha.
The thematic sessions and panel discussions will cover a wide range of topics including "The Present and Future of Short Stories, Perspectives and Philosophy of Translation, Notions and Possibilities of Poetry, Lord Jagannath and Global Consciousness, Agrarian Themes in Literature, The existence of Literature and the Illusion of Cinema, My Language and the Directions of My Literature.
Over 30 eminent and established writers from across Odisha are expected to attend and contribute to this two-day event.
The university has already begun necessary preparations to ensure the festival's success. An open invitation has been extended to all writers, storytellers, and literary scholars to attend and enrich the celebration of literature.
