20-Day Summer Training Program Begins at Fakir Mohan University : Over 300 Undergraduate Students Participate

Balasore, 19/05 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty):
With the aim of acquainting undergraduate students with various aspects of higher education and aligning with the National Education Policy, a 20-day summer training program has commenced at Fakir Mohan University.

The formal inaugural session of the program was conducted under the guidance of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Santosh Kumar Tripathy. Scheduled to run from May 19 to June 7, the program has drawn participation from over 300 undergraduate students from both within and outside the state.

Although approximately 1,300 students registered for the program, the university—following the guidelines of its regular and self-financing academic departments—has selected 300 students to take part.

In his inaugural address, Vice Chancellor Professor Tripathy congratulated the participants and encouraged them to actively engage with the training program. He urged the students to gain structured knowledge and make the most of the opportunity. He emphasized that the training is designed to promote enriched interaction with faculty and experts, deepen subject knowledge, offer practical learning, foster career-oriented perspectives in higher education, and develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and research-based approaches.

Dr. Santosh Kumar Agrawal noted that the internship program aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical experience.

Present at the inaugural event were Professor Bhaskar Behera (Chairman, Postgraduate Council), Professor Ranindra Kumar Nayak (Director, Human Resource Development Centre), Dr. Santosh Kumar Agrawal (Director, College Development Council), Dr. Nihar Ranjan Raut (Director, Student Welfare), and Professor Sunil Kumar Padhi (PG Hostel Warden). They addressed the students and shared essential information regarding the university.

Notably, full accommodation and meal arrangements have been made for the participating students within the university campus. The training will be conducted by university faculty members, invited experts, and educationists. The program is being organized jointly by all departments of the university and the Human Resource Development Centre.

The inaugural event was hosted by Dr. Rajashree Dutta and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Debadatta Das, Deputy Director of the HRDC.
