Adivasi Mela kick starts in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): The much-awaited tribal fair "Adivasi Mela" was inaugurated on Monday at the Adivasi Ground in Unit-I here, marking the beginning of the annual celebration of tribal culture and heritage.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the fair and later visited various stalls set up at the venue.
The Mela showcases model villages of 10 tribal communities and features exhibitions of tribal handicrafts, artworks, agricultural products and cultural programmes including tribal dances.
The CM recalled the incomparable contributions of the freedom fighers who sacrificed their lives for the country. He also highlighted the role of Adivasi leaders towards development of the state.
The Adivasi Mela will remain open to visitors till February 5.
