Balasore, 21/8(Krushna Kumar Mohanty) After six years of extensive research on the diverse applications and potential utility of nano-ceramic materials, young researcher Arpita Priyadarshini Dikshit has been awarded a Ph.D. degree from KIIT University. Her doctoral thesis at KIIT was prepared under the guidance of Professor Dr. S.K.S. Parashar, and it received high commendation from Professor Ramesh Chandra of IIT Roorkee.Arpita is the wife of Dr. Chinmay Mishra, who is currently conducting research on Social Robotics at the Max Planck Institute in the Netherlands. She is also the daughter-in-law of poet and retired English professor Dr. Chittaranjan Misra and Rotarian Mrs. Sushama Misra of Puri. She is the elder daughter of Mr. Manoj Kumar Dixit and Mrs. Dipika Dixit, residents of Ankabrahmapur near Soro.As the first Ph.D. holder from her native village, she has become a source of pride and inspiration for the community as well as a role model for the younger generation. Her research will help develop eco-friendly, pollution-free ceramic materials, that can be used in manufacturing machinery and devices.
