Baripada records highest rainfall in Odisha

Bhubaneswar (01/07/2024): Baripada in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha recorded highest rainfall of 156.6 mm during the past 24 hours. While Jamda in Mayurbhanj district recorded 131.0 mm of rainfall, Chandua in the district registered 126.0 mm of rainfall. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in four districts-Mayurbhanj, Balangir, Sambalpur and Puri- in the next 48 hours. There is a possibility of low visibility, submergence of roads, bridges and inundation of low lying roads. The Special Relief Commissioner has instructed the Collectors of these four districts to use pumps for dewatering and clearance of the drainage channel and evacuate people from low lying areas, if required.
