Commissionerate Police bans parking on major roads in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): In a bid to tackle traffic congestion, the Commissionerate Police has enforced a strict ban on parking along several major roads across Bhubaneswar. The decision comes in response to the rising problem of illegal parking, which officials say has been severely affecting smooth traffic flow.
According to police, restrictions have been imposed under the Odisha Urban Police (OUP) Act, and strict action will be taken against violators.
As part of the new directive, parking has been prohibited on major stretches: Rajmahal to Jaydev Vihar via Kalarahanga,
Airport to Acharya Vihar Square via Nalco Square,
Shishu Bhawan Square to Rajmahal, Master Canteen to Vani Vihar, Rasulgarh to Jaydev Vihar, Sriya to PHD Office, Gopabandhu Square to Kalpana, Kalarahanga Square to Nandankanan,
CRP Square to Unit-8 DAV School, Fire Station to City College, Khandagiri to Pokhariput, Damana Square to Sailashree Vihar and
Xavier Square to Utkal Hospital and up to Sai Mandir Square.
The police have urged commuters to cooperate with the new rules to ensure smooth movement of vehicles. Enforcement teams will monitor all restricted zones, and penalties will be imposed on vehicles found violating the order.
