District-Level Youth Festival Inaugurated by Baleswar Administration: 600 Youth Participants Join the Event

Baleswar, Dec 11 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): The Viksit Bharat Youth Leadership Dialogue–2026 and the District-Level Youth Festival were inaugurated today at the campus of Fakir Mohan Autonomous College.

The event has been organized by the Department of Sports and Youth Services, Government of Odisha, in collaboration with the Baleswar District Administration. Additional District Magistrate Sudhakar Nayak presided over the inaugural ceremony. Among the dignitaries present were Narayan Pradhan, Chairman of Baleswar Zilla Parishad, Savita Sahu, Chairperson of Baleswar Municipality, Fakir Mohan College Principal Dinesh Chandra Das, District Social Welfare Officer Pratibha Behera, District Culture Officer Manswini Rout, and District Sports Officer Purnachandra Jena.

The main objective of the festival is to provide a platform for young people to showcase their talents and leadership abilities. Speakers at the event highlighted that youth are the future of the nation and play a crucial role in nation-building.

The festival will be held over two days, today and tomorrow. A total of 600 participants aged 15 to 29 are competing in various events. Seven competitions have been scheduled: Folk Dance (Group), Folk Song (Group), Science Exhibition (Group), Poetry Writing (Individual), Story Writing (Individual), Painting (Individual), and Public Speaking (Individual).

Winners will be awarded cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions. Participants securing 1st and 2nd place will also earn the opportunity to compete in the State-Level Youth Festival.

The initiative by the Baleswar District Administration has generated enthusiasm among the youth, as the festival offers an important platform for showcasing their talent.
