Farmers take to streets over fertilizer in Malkangiri

Malkangiri(By Abhishek Mohanty): Hundreds of farmers under the banner of Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan staged a road blockade in Sikhapalli village of Malkangiri district on Monday.

Demanding fertilizer supply, the farmers sat on the road at National Highway 326 at Sikhapalli.

The agitators alleged that fertilizers are not available in the market. Despite submitting their demands to the District Collector, no action has been taken, which forced them to block the road, they said.

Owing to the protest, vehicular movement on the road connecting Umerkote in Nabarangpur district was affected for several hours.
