Five crore trees to be planted in Odisha: CM
Bhubaneswar(21/09/2024): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Saturday informed that the state government has decided to plant five crore trees to enhance green cover. Attending the climate panchayat organised by Sambad Group in Keonjhar, the Chief Minister said, "A long-term project will be launched to recharge ground water and to set up check dams in nullahs and water bodies in the state." On the second day of his three-day Keonjhar tour, the CM also urged the people of the district to grow plants on their house premises and share photographs under PM Modi's Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam programme. CM Mohan Majhi held a talk programme titled 'Chai Pe Charcha' where he enjoyed black tea with his old friends at his favourite tea stall and played football.
The Chief Minister used to visit the tea stall regularly.
