Four minors meet watery grave in separate incidents

Cuttack/Nayagarh(By Abhishek Mohanty): Four minor boys lost their lives in separate drowning incidents in Cuttack and Nayagarh districts on Sunday. 

In Nayagarh, three friends had gone for a bath in a pond at Godibida village under Daspalla police station seeking respite from the scorching heat.
The trio ventured into deeper waters after losing balance and tragically drowned thereafter. Hearing their wails, locals rushed into the pond and rescued them. 

The three were rushed to Daspalla Medical Centre, where doctors declared them dead upon arrival. 

In another incident, a minor boy went missing after being swept away in the Kathajodi River near Khananagar in Cuttack district.

The boy hailing from Betabindhani Sahi of Cuttack city and was bathing in the river when he was caught in the strong current and disappeared. 

Following an extensive search, the body of the boy, identified as 14-year-old Surjyakant Majhi, was recovered from the river near the Khannagar railway bridge by Odisha fire services personnel.
