MISCREANTS LOOT GOLD, SILVER JEWELLERY & CASH FROM NEWLY-BUILT RAM MANDIR IN NAYAGARH
Nayagarh (20/03/2024): Miscreants allegedly looted gold, silver jewellery and cash from the newly-built Ram Mandir situated atop the Giri-Govardhan hill at Fatehgarh in Nayagarh district on Tuesday night.
The matter came to the light when the temple priest saw the main door of the temple open and the ‘Hundi’ (Donation Box) inside the temple emptied.
The miscreants allegedly broke open the main door, vandalised the hundi and fled with gold, silver jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh and Rs 8 lakh cash from it.
The temple committee lodged a complaint regarding the loot with the Fatehgarh police.
The Ram temple at Fatehgarh was inaugurated on January 22, the same day as the Consecration ceremony of Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
The temple was built using the 'Baulamala' stone. The construction of the temple began in 2017. It is located 1,800 feet above the sea level while the height of the temple is 165 feet.
