Odisha CM flags off 250 new ambulances
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday flagged off 250 new ambulances at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, strengthening the state’s emergency medical services.
With the induction of the new fleet, the total number of ambulances in operation in the state has risen to 428.
The ambulances have been procured at a cumulative cost of Rs 111 crore.
The 250 ambulances were added under the second phase of the expansion programme. Seven of them are equipped with Advanced Life Support (ALS) facilities to provide critical care during emergencies.
Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling was present on the occasion.
