ODISHA PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS’ STRIKE: STATE GOVERNMENT ASKS TEACHERS TO RESUME DUTIES

Bhubaneswar(14/09/2023): The Odisha government has asked the agitating primary school teachers to call off strike and resume duties in the interest of students who are being deprived of their right to education.

The director of elementary education has written to the District Education Officers and Block Education Officers stating that most of the teachers have not taken any permission from their competent authorities before participating in the strike.

More than 56,000 primary and upper primary teachers went on strike on Wednesday seeking abolition of contractual appointment system, hike in grade pay and restoration of old pension scheme .
