On the occasion of International Women’s Day, four distinguished women will be honoured by ‘Naach’ dance institution
Balasore, March 5 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): The leading institution dedicated to dance, art and heritage, ‘Naach’, has announced the names of four eminent women who will be honoured for the year 2026 on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which the organisation observes every year.
Over the past five years, this celebration has recognised talented women from different sections of society for their notable contributions. Continuing this tradition, four accomplished women from diverse fields will be felicitated this year for their achievements and service, informed Ronalisa Panda, President of ‘Naach’, along with poet Srideb.
According to the announcement, the awardees for this year are noted writer and editor of 'Dhwani Pratidhwani' and 'Sagarika', Sairindhree Sahoo (Balasore); nationally acclaimed painter Paramita Sircar (Kolkata); educationist and social worker Sumati Mohanty(Soro), and young journalist and short story writer Smrutilagna Nanda (Bhubaneswar). They have been selected to receive the Naach Mahila Utkarsha Samman for 2026.
It is worth mentioning that the awards will be presented during the International Women’s Day celebration to be held on March 8 in the afternoon at the Naach auditorium. On the occasion, Basta MLA and editor of 'Rebati', Subasini Jena, will attend as the Chief Guest, while Chairperson of Balasore Municipality, Sabita Sahu, will grace the event as Guest of Honour.
