Over 1.3 lakh grievances resolved, says Odisha CM
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday said that the state government has resolved more than 1.30 lakh public grievances, underscoring its focus on responsive and inclusive governance.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a special grievance hearing programme for Divyang (persons with disabilities), which was attended by senior ministers including Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Nayak and School & Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond.
The Chief Minister said that 14,057 grievances have been received across 16 phases of the programme, with participation from over 56,000 people.
During the ongoing phase, grievances from all 30 districts have been registered under the supervision of district collectors.
According to information, 1,49,418 grievances have been received through the state’s web portal and postal services, of which 1,30,845 cases (around 88 per cent) have been resolved.
In the last 15 phases alone, nearly 95 per cent of grievances have been successfully disposed of.
The CM said the government plans to hold grievance hearings every Monday, three to four times a month, and extend the initiative to more locations.
He added that special financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund would be provided to patients suffering from serious illnesses, including cancer.
The initiative aims to strengthen direct engagement between the administration and citizens, with special emphasis on addressing the concerns of Divyang people through a structured grievance redressal mechanism.
