Padma Shri Awardee Charan Hembram Felicitated by Nua Baleswar Unnayana Parishad (NBUP)

Balasore, February 1 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): Padma Shri Awardee Charan Hembram was felicitated by the Nua Baleswar Unnayana Parishad (NBUP) at the Koshamb Mela Ground, Dadhivamana Nagar, near Remuna Golai.

The felicitation was organised in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Santali language, literature, and cultural traditions. On the occasion, he was honoured with a bouquet, a ceremonial shawl, and a citation.

The felicitation meeting was held under the chairmanship of Parishad President Bhagaban Das Khandelwal. Secretary Shilpi Keshudas anchored the programme and introduced the guests. 

Addressing the gathering, Padma Shri Awardee Charan Hembram expressed his gratitude to the Nua Baleswar Unnayana Parishad (NBUP) for the honour. He spoke about his simple and disciplined life and his lifelong, dedicated service to the Santali Ol Chiki script, Santali literature, and Santali folk songs and dances.

It was also informed that later in the evening, Charan Hembram will inaugurate Pranam Pratibha, an initiative of the voluntary organisation Gyanashree.
Among those present at the programme were Vice-President Somanath Biswal, Kamal Bihari Das, Umakanta Behera, Muralidhar Dash, Manoj Nayak, Balabhadra Satapathy, Gagan Giri, Biswanath Rana, Ratikanta Behera, Umesh Datta, Sushanta Mahanti, Sushanta Patra, Ashok Mal, and others, who joined in felicitating the distinguished awardee.
