PM MODI LAUNCHES GLOBAL BIOFUELS ALLIANCE
New Delhi(09/09/2023): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced the launch of Global Biofuels Alliance on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. A total of 19 countries and 12 international organisations have so far agreed to join the alliance, including the G20 members and non-member countries. India, Brazil and the US are founding members of the alliance. The Global Biofuels Alliance is one of the priorities under India's G20 Presidency.
The alliance will be aimed at boosting cooperation and heightening the use of sustainable biofuels, even in the transportation sector.
It will focus on bolstering markets, facilitating global biofuels trade, developing concrete policy lesson-sharing and providing technical support for national biofuels programs worldwide.
